About

My son Yannick is my gold medal. He is born in 1992, when I was almost 40. What an extraordinary chance, what a precious gift of life!

With my first coach, Mehdi Jaouhar.
Now with that 4th nomination on a Hall of Fame, does it mean that the loop is closed?
Since I started running to stop smoking, my first purpose was pleasure and passion by feeling connected with nature. It was like a good sundae then when I started to win, it was the cherry on top. So as long as my body will follow me, I’ll run!
Thanks so much to all my coaches along my career. My first coach Mehdi Jaouhar came from China to be here, what an honor for me. He’s the guy who help me recruit my fast twitch fibers at Claude Robillard doing short intervals. Then, I met the famous coach, Arthur Lydiard from NZ, who showed me with the Lydiard pyramid how to build a good foundation in order to reach the peak. Guy Thibault et Daniel Mercier, 2 excellent coaches from QC also helped me a lot.
My best supporter is Gilles Lapierre now my husband is the guy who told me to run Boston in 1980, you know the results! He’s always been there to encourage me and to restrain me from doing too much, not an easy task!
I would like to thank my 2 federations for their support and the medias, you are very important for the amateur athletes. Thanks for following me through my career and even after.
Thanks to my parents for the good genetics and most of all for upbringing me to be patient by learning not to put the cart before the horse, on the potato’s field.
I feel very honored to be inducted to the Hall of Fame of Athletic Canada.
Now, my goal is to share my knowledge to others. I learned from my errors and I know as I long as we keep well-balanced by staying vigilant to our body and soul, success is there. That’s why the title of my lecture is: Balance for total well-being, move and create your life. The most important ingredient is to always have the sacred fire inside us!
Success to all!
